Candidates Increase Urgency When Working With a Recruiter.

Did you know 89% of talent say they accept a job offer faster when contacted by a recruiter?

It is only human to want to be pursued. Who doesn’t like the feeling of getting the call back after an interview letting you know that you’re the one they want for the job? On the other hand, taking on a new position is a big decision and not one to be made on a whim. This means that many people will want to take their time to think things over and consider all of their options.

For a company looking for someone to fill a certain role sooner rather than later, this isn’t always ideal. Some recent statistics have indicated that 89% of talent accept job offers considerably faster when contacted by a recruiter. There are a few good possible reasons why this is the case and if you think about it, they all make perfect sense and are pretty simple.

Candidates feel like the “first choice.”

When job seekers get contacted by the recruiter, they tend to feel like they were the recruiter, or the company’s, first choice for the role. In turn, they’re more likely to spend more time considering these offers. This is because they will also make this particular opportunity their first choice. A recruiter went through the trouble of contacting them directly, so naturally this warrants the same effort.

In the end, this approach attracts a higher response rate, if not a more promising outcome. When candidates feel like the focus is on them, they’ll reciprocate the same attention to the recruiter, the company, and the offer on the table.

They sense opportunity.

Another thing that tends to play a big role in the outcome, is the feeling of being presented with an opportunity on a silver platter. When job seekers get approached by recruiters, they often feel like they would be making a mistake by not at the very least considering the offer that is made. Someone went through the trouble of contacting them directly, after all. The responsible thing to do, of course, is to look into all the possibilities.

Nobody wants to miss out on anything good that comes their way, and candidates are no different. Often, candidates get recruited for positions they might not have even thought to apply for. When they get contacted, an opportunity presents itself to broaden their horizons, and this can be the exciting new challenge candidates didn’t even know they were looking for.

Convenience and relevance.

Many emails go unread due to their generic and cliché nature. Naturally, messages that are clearly written specifically for an individual will stand out. It’s much more convenient for job seekers to reply to emails that are directed at them. Because of these personalized emails, they are also deemed relevant and therefore, must be read carefully.

This results in a much more fruitful outcome in terms of sourcing the best candidates who are eager to get to work for you. If candidates experience hands-on communication from the start, it’s much easier for them to give your offer the green light.
